Watch Ato Essandoh in Netflix’s new Altered Carbon trailer
Watch the Altered Carbon trailer that includes Chicago Med alum Ato Essandoh, before Altered Carbon season 1 arrives on Netflix next month.
The trailer for Ato Essandoh‘s new series Altered Carbon has arrived, and you can watch it right here.
Essandoh, who recurs on Chicago Med as cardiothoracic surgery chief Dr. Isidore Latham, is a series regular on Netflix‘s upcoming cyberpunk series.
He plays the character of Vernon Elliot, who lives in a future society where the human mind can be digitized—making the body expendable.
James Purefoy (Hap & Leonard, The Following), Joel Kinnaman (Robocop), Kristin Lehman (Motive), and Tamara Taylor (Bones) are among the other members of an expansive cast that any TV fan will be excited about.
The series is based on the novel of the same name by Richard K. Morgan, and all 10 episodes of Altered Carbon season 1 will be available to stream on Netflix starting Friday, Feb. 2.
But before then, Netflix has dropped a trailer giving audiences a greater idea of what they can expect from the show, and it’s definitely nothing like Chicago Med. This is a bleak, dystopian, and chaotic world populated by some great actors, including Ato Essandoh.
If you’ve enjoyed his performance as Dr. Isidore Latham on Chicago Med, you’ll want to give this new show a look just to see how different it is—and how much acting range the should be Emmy winner has. Vernon is no Latham, but Essandoh is still magnetic even in his trailer appearance, and he has a whole slew of interesting people to play off of in his new project.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t keep him away from Chicago Med for too long.
