The next Chicago Med episode has a big guest star and involves even bigger risks, so here’s what you can expect when Chicago Med season 3 returns with NBC‘s official description and promo.

Season 3, Episode 9 is called “On Shaky Ground” and it will be an interesting episode for the psych team, as Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) decides to take Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) with him when he visits the psych ward at the county jail. Will Dr. Reese, who’s already admitted to anxiety issues, be able to handle the harsh environment?

This episode also has a very high-profile guest star. Malcolm McDowell (Mozart in the Jungle) is featured as Dr. Marvin Jaffrey, a patient who happens to have been the mentor of Dr. Ava Bekker (Norma Kuhling). So we’ll ostensibly learn more about Ava in this episode, and perhaps see part of her that isn’t just about banter. What could we find out?

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"After discovering that a patient’s family might have been abusive, Dr. Choi and April contemplate calling child services. Dr. Manning and Dr. Halstead struggle to see eye to eye in guiding a family who is dealing with their premature baby.Dr. Rhodes is persuaded into preforming a risky surgery on Dr. Bekker’s mentor and world renowned surgeon, Dr. Marvin Jaffrey.
