3. Is Will hovering over Natalie?

Doctors Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) spent a lot of time during Chicago Med seasons 1 and 2 working closely together. They were essentially equals, so it made sense that they would work together on a case occasionally, but it definitely became the norm as the show reminded us that Will was hopelessly in love with Natalie even as they both seemed like they didn’t know what to do about that.

In Chicago Med season 3, though, Will is now the supervising attending physician, and really should be far too busy supervising the entirety of the Emergency Department to still be so closely glued to Natalie throughout almost every episode. Although Natalie dealt with a controversial pertussis case mostly on her own in “Folie A Deux,” Will was never far away – even at one point seen nearby at a vending machine while Natalie confronted the mother of the non-vaccinated boy who had infected her patient.

To further complicate matters, instead of addressing Natalie’s professionally questionable public confrontation in his role as her supervisor, Will chose to discuss it with her as her boyfriend, once again blurring the lines between their two relationships. Eventually one would think that Dr. Manning might get a bit perturbed at Will’s hovering, or at least the show would give one or both of them a few more other things to do. Certainly we could have more of Will working with Connor, or Natalie and April, too?
