Chicago Med has one doctor make a major mistake this week. Here’s the official Chicago Med season 3, episode 16 synopsis and teaser.

This week’s Chicago Med puts another doctor in the proverbial line of fire, according to NBC‘s official description of Tuesday’s next episode.

Tuesday’s episode is called “An Inconvenient Truth” and it has nothing to do with the Al Gore documentary of the same name. Rather, Dr. Ava Bekker (Norma Kuhling) is back in the spotlight and not for a good reason, when one of her surgeries goes wrong. Elsewhere in the hospital, we get a team-up between Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) and Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) when they have to make a tough call concerning a patient’s…gender?

We saw a storyline about Maggie’s transgender sister last season, but we haven’t seen one about gender as it relates to a child. And certainly we haven’t seen Ava in trouble, so it’ll be interesting to see what she did and what she does after—will this knock her down a peg? How will it affect her with the rest of the cardiothoracic surgery team? Could we learn more about her, because we need to?

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"After taking the lead on a surgery, Dr. Bekker feels the heat after something goes wrong. Dr. Manning and Dr. Charles are faced with a tough decision concerning the gender of a 9-year-old girl. April and Dr. Reese rush to find the son of a dying patient. Goodwin’s godson is admitted to the hospital."
