Chicago Med puts its focus on parents this week, and not in a good way. Here’s the official Chicago Med season 3, episode 17 synopsis and teaser.

This week’s Chicago Med is all about parents and their (medical) issues, according to NBC‘s official description of Tuesday’s next new episode.

Tuesday’s installment is called “The Parent Trap” and has nothing to do with the Disney movie of the same name starring Hayley Mills. No, this is about parents coming to the hospital, most of all Dr. Sarah Reese’s (Rachel DiPillo) father. Fans know that he had a heart attack in the previous episode and he’s not getting any better.

So will Reese actually mend fences with her dad before it’s too late, even though he’s caused nothing but trouble for her since he came back into her life? We couldn’t blame her if she didn’t, but since she’s got a big heart, she probably will at least try.

Meanwhile, the other doctors have their hands full with a different kind of parent-related problem. This could be a very interesting episode as far as conflicting opinions or different perspectives, especially since its other storyline features Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto), who happens to be a parent herself. Maybe we’ll get to see her with Owen again?

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"After a 10-year-old boy is admitted to the hospital, Dr. Manning and Dr. Halstead disagree on how to best handle the boy’s parents. Dr. Rhodes rushes to fix a heart that will be given to Dr. Reese’s estranged father."

And here’s the promo for “The Parent Trap” that’s been airing ahead of the episode:
