Chicago Med deals with a mass shooting in Tuesday’s new episode. Here’s the official Chicago Med season 3, episode 18 synopsis and teaser.

This week’s Chicago Med could be the biggest one of the season, according to NBC‘s official description of Tuesday’s upcoming episode.

Tuesday’s installment is called “This Is Now” and involves a shooting at a local park that has multiple victims, pushing the hospital’s staff and resources to the extreme as they try to save everyone. It seems like every season there’s some kind of incident that results in a huge influx of patients (see: last season’s “Cold Front”). But those can also be some of Med‘s best episodes as well, so will that be the case here?

It’s certainly a very topical episode, as well, so there’s a lot to watch for in this week’s episode. It will definitely test the characters and should be an intense episode for One Chicago fans. Will our heroes be able to rise to the occasion, or will we end up losing some patients like we did during the previous big event? There’s only one way to find out, and that’s watching on Tuesday.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"After a shooting occurs during a block party at a local park, Med is overrun with victims that stretch the hospital and staff to its limits. In the midst of the chaos, Dr. Choi devises a new mass casualty plan on the fly and Dr. Manning struggles to stay focused when she realizes her son and nanny might have been at the scene."

And here’s the “This Is Now” promo that’s been airing ahead of the episode:
