Chicago PD puts Alvin Olinsky behind bars this week, so will he get out? Here’s the official Chicago PD season 5, episode 21 synopsis and teaser.

This week’s Chicago PD has Alvin Olinsky in handcuffs, so things look very bleak according to NBC‘s official description and teaser for Wednesday’s next episode.

Wednesday’s installment is called “Allegiance” and involves Olinsky (Elias Koteas) formally being charged with the murder of the man who killed Voight’s (Jason Beghe) son. While he sits behind bars awaiting trial, Voight continues to call upon everyone he can to make the murder charge go away. But is he too late?

Meanwhile, the rest of the Intelligence Unit has to go ahead with their case of the week even though they’re a man down. Two members of the team set up an undercover operation in an attempt to keep heavy weaponry from being sold on the streets of Chicago. One reasons there will definitely be some bullets flying in this episode!

But the real drama is going to take place outside the district as we wait to see what happens with this murder case that is very real and seemingly beyond even Voight’s reach.

For even more on Olinsky’s future, be sure to read our interview with Michael McGrady, who returns this week as the Assistant State’s Attorney prosecuting him for murder.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"Halstead and Atwater go undercover to prevent military-grade weapons from hitting the street. Meanwhile, Voight calls in a favor as a last-ditch effort to clear Olinsky’s name for Bingham’s murder."

And here’s the “Allegiance” promo that’s been airing ahead of the episode:
