Chicago Fire season 6, episode 21 synopsis and promo: The Unrivaled Standard
Chicago Fire brings back Kelly Severide’s ex-girlfriend this week. Here’s the official Chicago Fire season 6, episode 21 synopsis and teaser.
This week’s Chicago Fire will further complicate the life of Kelly Severide, based on NBC‘s official description of Thursday’s next new episode.
Thursday’s installment is called “The Unrivaled Standard” and focuses on a return appearance from Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) love interest from the first season, Renee Royce (played by Sarah Shahi, who also stars in a new NBC series called Reverie that premieres at the end of May).
It goes without saying that her return is a complication for Stellaride. How will Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) react to seeing the woman Severide almost moved to another country with, considering how adversely she reacted when she learned about his Vegas marriage?
Plus, will anyone else make any decisions about their futures, considering that many of our characters seem to be looking forward as we get toward the end of the season? This is the time to make up people’s minds. But if you’re a Severide fan, expect that Thursday’s episode will have yet more romantic drama for him. It doesn’t seem like the show will just let him be happy, at least not without a fight.
Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:
"Lt. Severide is shocked when Renee Royce resurfaces at the firehouse. Casey comes up with a plan to help Chief Boden in his latest pursuit. Kidd regrets a decision she made regarding Severide. Herrmann doesn’t see eye-to-eye with Lt. Colannino over coaching their son’s basketball team."
