Chicago Med alum Patti Murin’s Broadway show Frozen: The Broadway Musical has officially secured a handful of Tony Award nominations including a nod in this year’s Best Musical race.

Nominations for the 72nd Annual Tony Awards were revealed Tuesday morning in a live telecast via Facebook and among the many deserving nominees was Frozen: The Broadway Musical, starring Chicago Med alum Patti Murin!

Although Murin and her co-stars failed to secure individual nominations in this year’s Actress in a Leading Role and Actor in a Leading Role categories, Frozen: The Broadway Musical is one of four musicals set to compete for this year’s Best Musical award – a well-earned nomination for the beloved Disney title.

It’s sure to be a tight race as the musical faces off against fellow nominees Mean Girls, The Band’s Visit and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical – who each received a handful of nominations including in the various acting races.

While Murin and her co-stars were overlooked by this year’s other nominees, Frozen did manage to secure two additional nominations outside of the Best Musical race with Jennifer Lee receiving a nom in the Best Book of a Musical category and Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez securing a nomination for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theater.
