With Chicago PD season 5 almost over, we’re making our case to get Chicago PD renewed. Here are 5 reasons NBC needs to order Chicago PD season 6.

It’s May, which means two things: season finales, and TV show renewals or cancellations. The Chicago PD season finale is this Wednesday on May 9, and just a few days after that is when NBC makes its upfront presentation to advertisers—and unveils its slate for the 2018-2019 fall TV season.

With that in mind, we’re getting up on our soapbox to campaign for Chicago PD season 6. It’s been a big year for Hank Voight and the Intelligence Unit, as PD aired its milestone 100th episode plus had its first season without Erin Lindsay and its first with Hailey Upton. The roster changed but the hard-hitting approach to crime remained the same.

Behind the camera, this was also the first season for new showrunner Rick Eid. Eid recently extended his contract with Universal Television for another two years and we think NBC should keep Chicago PD on the air for at least another season too.

Click through the below slideshow for the 5 reasons we think NBC should have Chicago PD renewed, and we encourage you to add your own thoughts in the comments at the end of this article. We’ll keep you updated when we know whether or not the Intelligence Unit is staying on duty.
