3) Where’s our relationship closure?

One Chicago has a significant amount of shippers in its fan base, and Chicago PD needs to stay on the air because it’s really carrying the torch for that segment of the fandom. Never mind that it is also leaving us hanging when it comes to shipping, too.

Chicago Fire has Dawsey but the next most popular ships are undoubtedly from PD. There was a little thing called Linstead that crashed and burned, and cancelling the show would leave Jay as the guy whose girlfriend left when he was ready to propose. Do we want his last relationship on the show to be with a drug dealer? What about Brettonio?

Then there’s Burzek, which has become a giant question mark. Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) kissed his ex-fiancee Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) last season, and nothing came of it. Then the two went home for a one-night fling this season, and it’s never been mentioned again. We need to actually get a clear idea of what’s happening with these two, and there’s only one way to do that.

Plus, there are other relationships to resolve that aren’t romantic relationships. It is not okay to end with Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) not only somehow never finding a date, but still being separated from his siblings. These characters deserve closure, we need it, and that means we need more Chicago PD.
