Mouch and Platt, Chicago Fire

RELATIONSHIP STATUS: GOOD

Status update: We never see nearly as much of Mouch (Christian Stolte) and Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) interacting as we want to, thanks to the fact that he’s on Chicago Fire and she’s over on Chicago PD. But One Chicago did manage to throw us a few bones about their marriage anyway, and it’s still going as strong as ever.

After it was revealed that Mouch survived last season’s cliffhanger but technically died for a few minutes, we heard in the Chicago Fire season 6 opener that Trudy was insistent on him living a healthier lifestyle—which of course, didn’t entirely stick. But after almost killing off Mouch, One Chicago then turned around and almost blew up Platt in Chicago PD‘s milestone 100th episode, which saw her doing a hilariously awkward TV interview before a bomb went off at the station with some not-so-great CGI.

Mouch rushed to his wife’s side, just like he did last season when she was beaten up in “All Cylinders Firing,” and reminded us how adorable these two are together. (Maybe he needs to take Platt on a vacation between her being roughed up last season and almost blown up this season.) Mouch and Platt have a special place in our hearts as One Chicago’s only crossover ship, but also because they’re just so endearing in a cynical kind of way.
