Is Chicago PD season 5 available to stream on Hulu? Now that Chicago PD season 5 has come to an end, One Chicago fans are wondering if they can watch the most recent season on the popular streaming service.

As we’ve mentioned previously, NBC has a content streaming deal with Hulu for several of its current shows, including the entire One Chicago franchise. So is Chicago PD on Hulu as part of that agreement? Yes, but don’t get too excited just yet.

The current season can be streamed on Hulu, but not the entire season. All that NBC has made available are the final five episodes. That means all you can watch right now is “Ghosts,” “Payback,” “Saved,” “Allegiance” and the surprising season finale “Homecoming.”

The good news is that you don’t have to pay an additional subscription fee for those episodes. You can watch all of them for free, as many times as you’d like until next season.

But the bad news is that limited number of episodes. If you missed any other episode, you can’t get it on Hulu; you’ll have to go to another source such as iTunes or Amazon Video, and those will charge you (usually $1.99 to $2.99 per installment, but because they’re purchased, you’ll then own them forever).

We also don’t know how long those five episodes will be available. Since Hulu’s agreement with NBC seems to only cover the current season, once the next season starts in September, those five installments will likely be gone—permanently.

And as Universal Studios Home Entertainment has yet to announce when the fifth season will be released on DVD, we can’t tell you when you’ll be able to physically own the season either. You will at some point, but we don’t know when.

So is Chicago PD on Hulu? You bet, and it’s current episodes, but it’s a relatively small selection. If you need to catch up, you can finish on Hulu—but if you need more than that, it’s probably best to wait for whenever the DVD arrives.
