NBC’s One Chicago has graced our scenes with many strong and determined female characters, spanning from doctors to firefighters to police officers. Each one shows us just how kickass women can be, but perhaps one of the most kickass female characters is Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati). Since she first graced our screens way back in season one of Chicago PD Burgess has shown us time and time again that women have the power to be as tough as men.

Starting as a simple patrol officer in the first season we have watched Burgess take down criminals of every caliber. From drug dealers to murders, Burgess has helped to put away some of the toughest on Chicago’s streets. Time and time again she has shown her determination to not only do her duty but to prove she was worthy of a spot on Voight’s (Jason Beghe) Intelligence squad.

Her attitude and determination have given us plenty of moments to celebrate her character and each time she has shown us that she is doing the job she was born to do.
