When can you watch Law and Order SVU this month on NBC? Here’s when and where Law and Order SVU will air in August, and which episodes are on tap.

One Chicago might be taking a break from the NBC schedule, but Dick Wolf‘s Law & Order: SVU is hanging around for another month.

The network will continue to show SVU repeats throughout August as they prepare fans of the long-running drama for its season premiere in September. As has been the case in each of the past two months, these reruns are all on Thursday nights, in the time slot that formerly belonged to Chicago Fire.

Below the jump is the SVU TV schedule for August. Note that this schedule is only for NBC airings and does not include the syndicated broadcasts of the show on NBC’s sister network USA or on local stations; visit the USA website and check your local listings for syndicated episodes.

Thursday, August 9: “Service”

The detectives find themselves wrangling with the military when a soldier is accused of assault, but one of the suspects is hiding an explosive secret. This episode is notable for actor Christopher Wiehl reprising his role from Chicago Justice.

Thursday, August 16: “The Book of Esther”

Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) is featured in this installment as she tries to save a young girl she believes is being held captive by her own father. Note that Philip Winchester doesn’t have screen time in this episode, if you’re watching for the character of Peter Stone.

Thursday, August 23: “Guardian”

Speaking of spotlight episodes, this one features Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutuola (Ice-T) when a man claims his sister was gang-raped. However, the deeper Fin probes into the story, the more he realizes that the reporting party is much closer to the crime than he appears. It’s another episode featuring a family gone very wrong.
