Queen of the South has recruited Chicago Med and Chicago Fire fan favorite Jeff Hephner, who appears in tonight’s episode of the USA drama.

Jeff Clarke might be in Hawaii, but Jeff Hephner is keeping busy as he’ll appear in Thursday’s new episode of USA‘s Queen of the South.

The network hasn’t released any details about his character, or how many episodes he’ll be in (we’ll tell you it’s more than one), so he’s a bit of a mystery—but given the premise of the show, he’s probably trouble.

Queen of the South is based on the Mexican novel La Reina del Sur, and follows Teresa Mendoza (played by Alice Braga) as she moves through the world of drug trafficking.

In tonight’s episode entitled “El Carro,” Teresa has fled to Phoenix, Arizona where she’s trying to put down new roots after having to go on the run. She’s also hoping to take over the area’s drug business, which prompts her to make some dangerous alliances.

The teaser for the episode does include a glimpse of Jeff Hephner, which you can see by playing the video below (look for him at about the 0:05 mark):

Needless to say, this is a vastly different role for Jeff than portraying Jeff Clarke in the One Chicago verse, but he’s well equipped to head on over to the proverbial dark side. One needs only to look at his work on Agent X to see how he does when he’s got to battle bad guys.

Hopefully, his character will turn out to be a good guy—although in a series that’s all about drug trafficking, the definition of good could be suspect.
