1. Stone weighs in on Voight’s case

The One Chicago shows have never been afraid to reference what’s happening on another series, even if it’s not a full-on crossover. Chicago Justice would’ve been a fertile ground for that, speaking of all the craziness that was happening on Chicago PD.

Even if the two shows never intersected, it would have been impossible for Stone not to hear about the investigation launched into Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and the subsequent case built against Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas). One of the major hooks for his character was that Stone was the man who originally prosecuted Voight and sent him away in the first place.

Of course he’d know that Voight was facing more charges, if only because everyone would expect he’d want to know. He probably got gossip about it from half the people in his office.

Chicago Justice season 2 could have easily thrown in a scene where Anna asked if Peter had heard what was going on in Intelligence. Or what about another crossover appearance from Jason Beghe as Voight came looking for Stone’s help with Denny Woods (Mykelti Williamson)? Voight reached out to countless people trying to get aid for Olinsky, and he already appeared on Justice back in the aforementioned “Uncertainty Principle” to see what was going on with Atwater.

Whether it was just a brief guest appearance or if Justice wanted to do a full-on crossover with PD where Peter stepped in to help, the always-complicated relationship between Voight and Peter was so rich it would have added a new layer to both shows. Who wouldn’t have loved seeing Peter Stone trying to defend Hank Voight instead of prosecute him? That would have been an end to the season.
