Chicago Med season 4 character preview: Connor Rhodes
What should happen
The most important thing for Connor Rhodes in Chicago Med season 4 is that he needs to get a handle on his life. While it’s true that Connor thrives in chaos, there’s a big difference between that and intentionally making his life more complicated, which is what he did last season. He made more than a few bad decisions, and it’s time to get back on track.
Some Chicago Med fans lost interest in Connor last season, and it was understandable while he was going through his own version of a mid-life crisis. People didn’t want to see him sleeping with women he barely knew and arguing with Ava Bekker when they both had better things to focus on.
You could say that after Robin left him—the second girlfriend to leave him, after Dr. Sam Zanetti got a better job offer in the first season—he threw up his hands and stopped caring, and while that makes sense, that’s not the Connor audiences know, love and want to root for.
Connor should have had plenty of time by now to come to terms with his latest breakup and get used to Ava’s disruption in his workplace. His best move now is to climb back into the saddle and reclaim his rightful spot as the badass surgeon he really is, leaving all of that baggage (his dad, his insecurities, and whatever Ava’s doing) at the door.
