Chicago Med’s Jeff Hephner appears opposite Jennifer Garner in her new action movie Peppermint. Watch the trailer and get your tickets here.

One Chicago fans will want to head to movie theaters this weekend to see Peppermint, because the new movie includes a role for Jeff Hephner.

The Chicago Fire and Chicago Med fan favorite appears in the Jennifer Garner flick portraying her character’s husband. When tragedy befalls their family, Garner’s heroine Riley North sets out on a quest for revenge.

For Jeff Hephner, it’s the latest credit in a very busy summer and fall. He recently guest starred on the USA series Queen of the South as an Arizona politician who becomes a potential ally for Teresa Mendoza (series star Alice Braga).

He’ll also be seen later this year as one of the leading characters in NatGeo‘s Mars season 2, in his first science fiction role on television.

But this is on the big screen, and it’s with one of Hollywood’s biggest names, too. Click below for a look at the Peppermint trailer, which includes a look at Jeff’s character:

If you need more motivation to get out and see the movie, Jeff Hephner isn’t the only Chicago Fire actor to appear in Peppermint, either. Annie Ilonzeh has a supporting role as Inman, and she’ll be joining the show later this month as the new paramedic replacing Gabriela Dawson (the departed Monica Raymund).

Other cast members include John Ortiz (Fast & Furious, Law & Order and the upcoming Mayans MC), Richard Cabral (American Crime) and John Gallagher Jr. (The Newsroom). The movie is directed by Pierre Morel, who also helmed the original Taken film back in 2008.

This is a well-cast movie, with some recognizable names in it for TV fans. One Chicago viewers can also see their newest cast member in a different role and get an idea of her acting before she joins Chicago Fire, and the presence of Jeff Hephner makes it more than worth the time for anyone who still misses him in the franchise.
