Before Chicago Fire season 7 begins on Sept. 26, we’re previewing the new season specifically for each main character. Where did they leave off last season, what ought to happen with them in the new season, and what is most likely going to happen next?

Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) will be starting her fourth season on Ambulance 61, and she’s already been through a heck of a lot since joining the team. Brett is Firehouse 51’s eternal optimist, who seems to have almost boundless energy, and in response the universe (and Chicago Fire‘s writers) throws as much as possible at her. Somehow, though, Brett always makes it through.

But that could be tough this time around. She’ll be going into the new season after having big issues to handle both professionally and in her personal life. Of all the characters on the show, Brett might have had the most drama.

So it has to get better from here, right? What will happen for her next, especially given all of the changes that have happened both on and off screen during the hiatus?
