Before Chicago PD season 6 begins on Sept. 26, we’re previewing the new season specifically for each main character. Where did they leave off last season, what ought to happen with them in the new season, and what is most likely going to happen next?

Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) had a hectic time last season. He was one of the show’s prominent characters, or at least as prominent as one could be in a season that was dominated by the Denny Woods storyline.

But in the middle of all that, Halstead had plot points that stretched over multiple episodes, and a few installments where he was front and center. He finally dealt with issues from his time serving in the military, went into therapy, and embarked upon an ill-fated fling with a woman who turned out to be a drug dealer.

It wasn’t the best time for him, but it did give him plenty of screen time and Jesse Lee Soffer some new and different storylines to sink his teeth into after four seasons of stability. But how will Jay move on after all of that chaos?
