Chicago Med season 4 character preview: Sarah Reese
What should happen
The best thing that could happen for Sarah Reese in Chicago Med season 4 is less of Sarah Reese. Not because we dislike her character at all, but because Reese is in desperate need of some time away from the hospital and everyone in it, so that she can work on herself.
The past two seasons have been interesting, because they took Reese in an unexpected direction by having her abandon Pathology for Psychiatry, and the pairing of Rachel DiPillo with Oliver Platt has been excellent to watch.
But they’ve also shown that Reese still has a lot of maturing to do. She makes a lot of decisions from her heart, and can be easily blinded or swayed by other people. Whether it was running away from Pathology, or this season how she let her father manipulate her against Dr. Charles, she’s got a lot to learn and some growing up to do.
How much of that can really be accomplished at the hospital? She’ll be upset with Dr. Charles and it will probably be hard to be around him, and he’ll want to help but might just end up making the situation more complicated. Plus, this is where a lot of crazy has happened for her over the past two seasons.
It’s time for Reese to catch a break. Even if it’s just Rachel DiPillo getting a few episodes off while the show says that Sarah went to Hawaii or New York for a much needed vacation, the character needs to come up for air and get a chance to figure herself out.
