Where we left off

There’s a reason that NBC only released a handful of images of Trudy Platt from the latest season of Chicago PD. That’s because compared to the show’s other main characters, Platt was hardly in the season!

She did appear briefly in several episodes, whether it was manning the front desk at the district or coming upstairs to Intelligence to impart necessary information. But her screen time seemed to be much shorter than usual, and out of the entire season, there was only one episode that really put Platt front and center.

That was the milestone 100th episode (and the season’s only crossover) “Profiles” which saw Platt begrudgingly making a public appearance on TV, only to be nearly blown up. Amy Morton’s performance was great as Platt tried to help victims and emerged from the wreckage, but can one really call it a good episode for her character if it involved trying to kill her?

Aside from that, there really hasn’t been much going on with Platt recently. She continues to steal most of the scenes she’s in, but Chicago PD didn’t make as much use of her last season as it could have. So will she make a comeback in Chicago PD season 6?
