Where we left off

Like Will Halstead, Natalie Manning’s most recent season was dominated by the Manstead ship. After two seasons of building up anticipation, Chicago Med season 3 finally took the plunge and the season premiere ended with Natalie and Will confessing their feelings to one another before they kissed.

While the season started with a handful of cute Manstead moments, it didn’t take the show long to cause problems in the new relationship—and these were the biggest (and most frustrating) of them all.

After Natalie once again stepped over the line on a case and faced disciplinary action because of it, Will decided to fall on his sword and claim that it was his mistake. Natalie took serious offense and exploded in a monologue where she essentially accused Will of being sexist, before taking a break from the relationship.

Though she eventually forgave Will, it didn’t take long for her to get angry again when he admitted that during said break, he had gotten drunk and gone home with another doctor at the hospital.

A whole other fight between them erupted over that and other things, but it was mostly the other woman—because when Natalie saw Dr. Maya Frisch (guest star Emma Duncan) flirt with Will in front of her, even though Will clearly said no, Natalie was angry for the third time. That made her even more shocked when Will chased after her and asked her to marry him!
