Chicago PD season 6 character preview: Adam Ruzek
What will happen
Now that Adam Ruzek is out from under the thumb of Denny Woods, Chicago PD season 6 can do pretty much anything with him. The only lingering question for his character, because there hasn’t been a lot of time to do much with him recently, is his ongoing push-pull with Burgess. They were leaving together last season, but then it was never brought up again, so it seems like a one-night stand.
But it’s clear that Ruzek wants more than a one-night stand with the woman he once asked to marry him. To be fair, Burgess was Ruzek’s third fiancee, so that doesn’t carry as much weight as it would for another relationship; he seems to get to that step early and often. Yet he has an obvious fondness for Kim, and the show has to address that for good during this season. There’s been too much of a runaround.
Once that happens, it’s time to get to the bottom of Ruzek’s anger issues on the job. There has to be some kind of plotline related to that. He has never been the most chill person in Intelligence but the show has given him a shorter fuse than usual recently, and the only reason we can think of for that, is that it’s trying to set something up this season.
Plus, in the new conflict between Voight (Jason Beghe) and Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), Ruzek will definitely be Team Voight—the two are just too similar. If Antonio didn’t support Voight’s story get ready for Ruzek to give him a piece of his mind, and for him to face the consequences.
