Law and Order SVU’s season premiere is a two-hour event. Find out what’s happening this week in the SVU season 20, episode 1 and 2 synopsis and teaser.

Law and Order SVU starts its milestone 20th season with a two-hour special event, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promo they’ve released.

After ending last season with two back-to-back episodes, the Dick Wolf series is doing the same thing to start this season (and thus, starting an hour earlier, so don’t forget to tune in at a special time of 9 p.m. ET/PT).

Wednesday’s episodes are titled “Man Up” and “Man Down.” Law and Order SVU introduced several new recurring characters for this season, and several of them will make their debuts in these two installments.

Former Chicago Justice guest star Dylan Walsh (from the episode “Fool Me Twice”), who also guest-starred on this series years ago, has a plum role this season as a powerful businessman named Jack Conway. His son is the victim in the season premiere.

This episode also introduces The Crossing star Sandrine Holt in her new role as Lisa Abernathy, who will consult on the case and also help one of the show’s regular characters with a personal trauma.
