The first episode “Man Up” is part of a two-hour premiere, in which the first two installments of SVU season 20 are airing on the same night, as part of the same story. Because of that, NBC has to start things an hour earlier than usual.

In the first part, a young man named Sam Conway has been attacked, leading the team to try and find out who did it—even though he won’t tell them who. Can Dominick Carisi (Peter Scanavino), Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and the rest of the squad get through to Sam, identify his rapist and get justice? And why is he insisting on staying quiet?
