Chicago Fire season 7, episode 2 synopsis and promo: Going To War
What’s coming up in the next Chicago Fire episode? Find out what’s happening this week in the Chicago Fire season 7, episode 2 synopsis and teaser.
This week’s Chicago Fire episode is the first part of this season’s first Chicago Crossover, and it starts off pretty big, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promo they’ve released.
Wednesday’s episode is entitled “Going To War” and sees Firehouse 51 battling a blaze at one of the city’s biggest apartment buildings. While they work to rescue tenants in the 15-story complex they must find and locate people trapped inside.
Plus, there’s a family connection for some One Chicago characters, and naturally you don’t take on a fire that large without there being some kind of peril for the firefighters. So who’s going to be the unlucky folks this season? Hopefully it’s not Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) again.
But it’s no spoiler to say something’s fishy here, otherwise we wouldn’t need the other two casts to get involved, so who’s going to get hurt and who set this giant fire that’s going to be a huge pain for Firehouse 51? The three-show, three-hour crossover starts here.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:
"In the first part of a three-show, one-night crossover event, Firehouse 51 is faced with a daunting challenge when an out-of-control blaze consumes a 15-story apartment complex, trapping victims on the top floors. Complicating the rapidly escalating situation, members soon discover that someone close to home may be one of the trapped victims."
And here’s the sneak peek that was posted in advance of the episode, as all three One Chicago shows aired the same promo last week due to this being a crossover event:
