There’s a big grey area in this week’s episode of Law and Order: SVU, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promotional video they’ve released for it.

Thursday’s episode is called “Revenge,” and sets Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her team of detectives in the path of a robbery crew. What does that have to do with a squad that investigates sex crimes? There’s also assaults taking place during these incidents, and they’re getting more and more violent as the crime spree goes on.

But as is the case with many Special Victims Unit episodes, there’s more going on here than meets the eye. Namely, the title wouldn’t seem to fit the plot of this installment, so where does the idea of revenge come in? What’s the real story behind these cases, or is somebody going to take things into their own hands and make it even worse? On this show, anything is possible.

Fans should also keep this episode on their calendar because Callie Thorne (Necessary Roughness) returns as defense attorney Nikki Staines. That means this won’t be an easy episode in any shape or form.
