The next Chicago PD is going to put somebody in a compromising position, according to NBC‘s official description of this week’s episode.

Wednesday’s episode is entitled “Ride Along” and no, it has nothing to do with the Kevin Hart movie of the same name. Instead, this episode is a showcase for Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), which is also very welcome. Unfortunately, that extra screen time comes because things will get a bit thorny for Burgess.

When the Intelligence Unit’s case of the week goes upside down, the network has revealed that Burgess will have to choose between two sides. One of them is a “new ally,” so who’s new and on the opposite side of Intelligence? The easiest money is on Detective Superintendent Katherine Brennan (Anne Heche), since Chicago PD fans know that she’s a frenemy to Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and she’s got the power to try and persuade somebody to see things her way.

But Burgess has already chosen Voight over her own boyfriend last season, so if she’s willing to do that, is there really anyone who can sway her from the company line? It really doesn’t seem likely. Audiences will have to watch and see how her latest dilemma plays out.
