Chicago PD season 6, episode 8 synopsis and promo: Black and Blue
What’s happening in this week’s episode of Chicago PD? Find out about the next episode with the Chicago PD season 6, episode 8 synopsis and teaser.
The next Chicago PD is giving Kevin Atwater the spotlight, according to NBC‘s official description and the promotional spot they’ve released for this week’s episode.
Wednesday’s episode entitled “Black and Blue” focuses on Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins). As the title indicates, it deals with his balancing act being both a police officer and part of the African-American community. The case of the week puts him squarely between both sides, while also revealing something that One Chicago fans will be happy to hear: he finally has a love interest!
It’s great that LaRoyce Hawkins is getting his featured episode this season, because he’s been sitting on the sidelines for too long. So far, Atwater’s biggest contributions have been supporting other people’s stories, but One Chicago viewers know Hawkins is capable of leading an episode by himself and then some.
And at least unlike the Atwater episodes from last season, this one doesn’t sound like it involves him being physically harmed in any way or something terrible going on with his family. Anything is possible, though, so cross your fingers that everything will work out for our favorite underrated detective. Can he solve the case of the week and save the community?
Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:
"While CPD tries to take down a drug kingpin, Atwater faces a tough choice between doing what’s required to solve the murder of a young dealer and what’s best for the community."
And here’s the promotional video that’s been airing ahead of the episode:
