2. Casey will sleep with Naomi

Our apologies to Dawsey shippers, because we are sure that the Chicago Fire midseason finale is going to have Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) end up in bed with Naomi Graham (recurring guest star Kate Villanova).

The three episodes in which Naomi has already appeared have pushed the Casey and Naomi ship pretty hard. Since the last episode ended with a cliffhanger for the two of them, obviously she’ll be in this installment, too. After all, the show has to resolve the trailer park storyline and it will likely be in this episode since it wouldn’t make sense to drag it out past that.

And they’ve done everything else except sleep together. She flirted with him in her first episode, kissed him in her second, and the last time he “couldn’t stop thinking” about her. This is what the show clearly wants, and after a dangerous experience is a typical set-up for them to finally hook up. They’ll have narrowly escaped some kind of danger and that will make Casey act on his new feelings for her.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that the relationship will last; it still feels like Naomi being kind of infatuated with Casey and a newly divorced Casey on the rebound. But he’s certainly looking to get back out there after divorcing Dawson, and Naomi’s right there and clearly into him. Expect them to wind up together by the end of the finale, and then we’ll see in the winter premiere if they have a real chance at dating or are just a post-divorce fling.
