2. Connor and Ava will have a moment

Moving on to couples that currently exist, Chicago Med has hooked up Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) and Dr. Ava Bekker (Norma Kuhling) again. Yet they haven’t been shown together as a couple that much, unless you count when they were making out in a storage room as an odd way of dealing with frustration.

That makes us believe there has to be a moment for shippers somewhere in the finale. Chicago Med is clearly all-in on Connor and Ava, and has been since last season. But Chicago Med season 4 hasn’t had that big shipper moment for them yet, since most of the first eight episodes dealt with how they’d get back together after Ava went behind Connor’s back to fund his hybrid OR and keep him from going to the Mayo Clinic.

This episode would be the perfect time to have one. Seeing them make out doesn’t actually move their relationship forward in any kind of meaningful way. And there’s a lot that feels left untouched from the funding debacle. Yes, Connor recognized how much it meant, but they’ve not talked about how uncomfortable that was for her. Or really addressed how she lied to him. Or shown her being there for him in a way that he knows about.

The synopsis for this episode very strongly implies that Connor will be operating on Ray Price, the gangster whom Will got mixed up with. It’d be great to see Ava in there supporting him, especially if it doesn’t end well—which it might not, because a pretty easy way to wrap that storyline up is if Ray dies.
