Chicago PD season 6 midseason finale predictions
What will happen in the Chicago PD midseason finale? Here are our Chicago PD predictions ahead of Chicago PD season 6’s winter finale.
The Chicago PD midseason finale airs this Wednesday, so it’s time to predict where the series will leave One Chicago fans. Every One Chicago finale always has surprises, plot twists, reveals or something else that leaves audiences wanting more, and this will be no exception.
How much trouble is Antonio Dawson in with his drug problem? Will the show’s new power couple stay together or crash and burn? What about Intelligence’s ongoing back and forth with the upper echelon of the Chicago Police Department? Will that become relevant? Here’s what we think will happen on Chicago PD:
1. Antonio will end up at rock bottom
All these tidbits of Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) developing an addiction to prescription drugs have to add up to something, and the Chicago PD midseason finale is a perfect platform to play it out. Midseason finales love to leave characters on the hook; just look at last season when Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) was left to face the wrath of Voight after being exposed as a mole.
This season, it’s Antonio’s turn to get the short shrift. The picture above makes it very clear that his ex-wife Laura Dawson (returning guest star America Olivo) is coming back with a vengeance, so she has to know something is up with him. She has every reason to be furious about it, too, as they have a family together. It’s not just his life Antonio is messing with; it’s all of theirs.
But if Laura knows, does the rest of Intelligence know? Probably not, because Chicago PD would get a lot of dramatic punch out of the team stumbling onto his secret. It’s too juicy a reveal for him just to tell his coworkers. And there are so many drug busts and drug-related calls on this show, it would be easy for Antonio to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and get caught.
It’s going to be a long, hard road to recovery, though. Aside from whatever wrath he faces from his friends and family, Antonio’s addiction isn’t going to go away in the span of an episode. There’s not enough time. He’s going to need to get better, and before he does, it can easily get worse. Expect him to face some kind of consequences at the end of this episode—whether he leaves the team to get treatment, or makes a mistake due to his lapses in judgment, or both.
