What’s happened so far

Connor has had one of the busiest seasons of any Chicago Med character. He accepted the job at the Mayo Clinic that he was offered in last season’s finale, and was literally packing up to leave in the season premiere.

But then a patient death prompted him to suggest the idea of an operating room located within the Emergency Department, and when the board agreed to build it only if he stayed, Connor gave up his shiny new job to try out yet another job title.

What he didn’t know was that his idea had only come to fruition because Dr. Ava Bekker (Norma Kuhling) was still crushing on him, so much that she went to his father to secure funding and keep Connor in Chicago. When Connor found out where the money had come from and how, he was not happy—but only briefly. The two were soon kissing and making up, and have officially become a couple.

Elsewhere, Connor had some high-profile operations; he was able to save Chicago Fire‘s Stella Kidd, but not able to do the same with the FBI’s confidential informant against local gangster Ray Price.

He also locked horns with a few higher-ups. He got into a fight with the new ED chief Dr. James Lanik (recurring guest star Nate Santana) when Lanik was willing to throw medical student Terry McNeal (Colby Lewis) under the bus to save Lanik’s own reputation.

And more recently, he’s argued with Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) when she wanted to open up his hybrid OR for non-emergency procedures to make some extra money out of it. So will Connor be able to keep his pet project alive?
