What’s happened so far

In her second season as a Chicago Med series regular, Ava has so far had just one plotline, though it’s served as an ongoing story across most of the first nine episodes.

The season premiere saw Ava take advantage of Cornelius Rhodes’ (D.W. Moffett) fixation on her to get him to fund a new OR program at the hospital, so that Ava could keep his son and her not so secret crush Connor Rhodus (Colin Donnell) in Chicago.

Ava kept that information from Connor for several episodes, even when it meant going to Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) to discuss keeping the donation confidential. The truth came out in “The Poison Inside Us” when Cornelius let it slip to Connor in passing.

Connor turned on Ava, but only for a scene; she collapsed giving a blood transfusion to his patient later in the same episode, and by the end of it they were sharing a kiss. The two have since turned into a full-on couple, with a later episode showing her pulling him aside into a hospital room for more kissing.

They’re clearly in the honeymoon phase of their relationship now that it’s lasted longer than one night. But with Chicago Med‘s new ship officially on, and the cat out of the bag regarding Ava’s big secret, what’s left for her to do in the remaining 13 episodes of this season?
