What’s happened so far
Natalie’s screen time in Chicago Med season 4 has been a bit deceiving. We’ve seen a lot of her in the first nine episodes, but most of it has been in service of or related to furthering the story with Will (Nick Gehlfuss) that’s carried most of the episodes.
We’ve seen Natalie arguing with Will over what kind of wedding they want to have, Natalie going over the details of the wedding with Will, Natalie preparing for the wedding with Will and of course Natalie being left at the church on her wedding night by Will.
There’s only been one significant medical storyline for Dr. Manning, which took place during “The Poison Inside Us.” Natalie and Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) were stuck in the hospital following its lockdown, forcing Natalie to deliver her patient’s baby using whatever supplies they could find.
Natalie had thought Dr. Charles was able to call for help from another doctor, but found out after she had successfully delivered the newborn that no one had been on the phone at all. Incredibly upset, she accused Charles of manipulating her, but he placated her by saying that she needed to trust her instincts.
Now she’s got bigger problems, though, since the last time audiences saw her was sobbing as her husband-to-be was driven away by the FBI and her own future brother-in-law.
