What’s happened so far

The sixth season of Chicago PD hasn’t been that busy for Kim Burgess, but what audiences have seen so far hasn’t been great for her, either.

Burgess had one feature episode in “Ride Along” where she lost track of a VIP’s daughter during a ride-along, and lied to a review board about what happened. That only made her problems worse, except for that her BFF Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) just coincidentally knew someone on the review board and pulled a string to save Burgess.

It was worth noting that the situation happened when Burgess elected to take advice from Deputy Superintendent Katherine Brennan (recurring guest star Anne Heche). It was a surprise to see Kim swayed by Brennan’s talk about her future with the CPD, especially since Brennan was advocating for exactly what Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) was telling her not to do.

The other big plot development for Burgess this season hasn’t happened to her—that her former fiance Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) has moved on with a new love interest. How is Burgess going to react to that news? Everyone is still speculating, but chances are it’s not going to be good.
