Chicago Justice’s Carl Weathers celebrates his birthday
Chicago Justice star Carl Weathers is celebrating his birthday, so we’re celebrating his character Mark Jefferies and telling you what he’s doing now.
Today we’re saying happy birthday to Carl Weathers, who portrayed the no-nonsense State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies on Chicago Justice.
Though Chicago Justice itself no longer exists, Weathers’ performance as Jefferies isn’t one that One Chicago fans will forget any time soon. He brought a tremendous amount of gravitas to being the man in charge of our favorite group of prosecutors.
He also wasn’t afraid to get into disagreements, whether it was with them or anyone else who needed a stern talking-to. At the same time, he was great when Jefferies had to use his softer touch when dealing with victims and high-profile visitors to his office.
He was a wonderful addition to the One Chicago universe, and it’s a shame he didn’t get the opportunity to stick around longer.
The good news, though, is that Carl Weathers has a number of recent and upcoming projects, so viewers have many chances to see him now as well as in the future.
He reprised his role as Mark Jefferies in an episode of Law & Order: SVU this season, when former right-hand man Peter Stone (Philip Winchester) recruited Jefferies to help him with a case in New York. Jefferies ended up saving the whole episode, as you can watch by playing the video above.
Weathers also appeared in an episode of CBS‘ new Magnum, P.I. remake and recently directed an episode of that network’s revival of Hawaii Five-0, as well.
And if that’s not enough, click the banner below to find out about his awesome upcoming project, where he’s been cast in an upcoming series that serves as the next chapter of one of the biggest franchises in entertainment history. Carl Weathers is coming to Star Wars, and it’s going to be an excellent role for him.

That may limit his ability to make future guest appearances in the Dick Wolf franchises (either of them), but hopefully he will at some point in the future. He’s certainly welcome back any time, as he was a great State’s Attorney that made a huge impression in Chicago.
