Chicago Med season 4, episode 11 recap: Who Can You Trust
Choi and April
Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) had an interesting start to his day, stopping a would-be mugger with a solid tackle and then discovering the man’s disabled victim had gangrene. He rushed the man to the ED, where he and Vicki Glass (guest star Cynthia Addai-Robinson) opened the box the mugger had tried to steal and identified the victim as Reginald Marks, a decorated soldier.
April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) was not thrilled to see Vicki working with Choi on the case, and she refused to share test results until Vicki left the hospital. When Choi confronted her, she claimed she was “protecting patient confidentiality,” but it was obvious that was only part of it.
Reginald soon crashed, losing a ridiculous amount of blood. But there wasn’t any more blood left for him thanks to a mass casualty event at another hospital. When he ordered April to get blood anyway, she went to their boss Dr. James Lanik (recurring guest star Nate Santana) instead, and Reginald died.
Choi accused April of trying to get back at him because of Vicki, also pointing out that April only seemed to follow the rules when they suited her. He wasn’t wrong. Maggie decided she was tired of their drama, and informed Choi that he and April would be working separate shifts.
With that ultimatum hanging over their heads Choi apologized to April, who admitted that she could be nicer to Vicki, “but it’s hard.” That led to them sharing a kiss, just moments before Vicki showed up. And of course, Choi didn’t tell his girlfriend that he’d just locked lips with his ex.
