Chicago Fire season 7, episode 13 recap: The Plunge
Casey and Severide
Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) continued their bromance this week. Severide took Casey out on the town, bringing him out clubbing and even being able to skip the line because he knew the bouncer. This didn’t seem to be Casey’s idea of a good time, and he admitted it was “an adjustment” to the nearest bartender.
Chicago Fire fans wouldn’t be shocked by Severide having a whole group of women soon eating out of the palm of his hand, leaving Casey on his own. Chicago Fire season 7 has been doing its best to reinvigorate Casey’s social life, and this was no exception. The next day, he was hungover while eyeing the latest woman Severide had brought home (yeah, that’s happening again).
Once sobered up Casey led the charge to find a man who’d passed out drunk in his bathtub and frozen thanks to the cold temperatures. He seemed to be dead, but Foster’s insistence to keep working on him wound up bringing the guy back to consciousness.
“The Plunge” ended with Casey, Severide and everyone else on the bank of Lake Michigan as they geared up for the Polar Plunge—however unconvincingly. Even Foster turned up, deciding to get past her fear to be part of the event. Everyone got to freeze, but at least Casey didn’t end up going home with a bartender or doing something else ill-advised while drunk. Chicago Fire season 7 took it easy on him for once!
