Chicago PD season 6, episode 13 recap: Night in Chicago
Daryl’s death
Burgess and Voight interviewed one of the women found at the stash house, and Voight agreed to get her and her family out of Chicago. He also updated Atwater, who went to support a brooding Daryl about the disruption of his business. Naturally, Atwater had another supplier whom he could hook Daryl up with!
With no other option, Daryl agreed to a meeting with an undercover Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) and the two quickly made a deal. But as the two drove home afterward, they were pulled over by an overzealous patrol unit—and this was not part of the plan. This was two uniforms screwing up the operation as they started doing a little racial profiling.
And when they got a radio call about an unrelated robbery with suspects who just happened to be black, they pulled Atwater and Daryl out of the car and began to manhandle them. One pulled his gun on an upset Daryl, who refused to get on his knees and for that, ended up being shot to death.
So now what? Would they face any consequences for their actions, and how the heck was Atwater supposed to keep the case going with Gamble’s most trusted lieutenant dead? Not from the back of a patrol car, that’s for sure.
