Law and Order SVU season 20, episode 15 synopsis and promo: Brothel

The next Law & Order: SVU episode spotlights one particular character, while also introducing a high-profile guest star, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promotional teaser they’ve released for it.

Thursday’s episode is simply titled “Brothel,” because that’s what the Special Victims Unit team is investigating this week. And maybe Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) will finally get a little bit of a break, because the plot focuses on Odafin “Fin” Tutola (Ice-T). He takes the lead on this particular case, while relying on a previous colleague to help him close it.

That old friend is played by someone whom TV fans will recognize: Jennifer Esposito (from Blue Bloods and NCIS). This is her second appearance on Special Victims Unit; she previously guested as the character Sara Logan in the 200 episode “Remorse.” She’s also been in two episodes of the original Law & Order as well as Dick Wolf‘s New York Undercover.

Most recently, the actress guest starred in two episodes of another NBC series, Blindspot. She was a fan favorite when she played a detective on Blue Bloods, so it’ll be interesting to see what she brings to SVU.
