The next Chicago Fire crossover with Chicago PD is here, and it’s going to be more than a little uncomfortable, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promo that they’ve released this week.

Wednesday’s installment “What I Saw” kicks off a two-hour event between the two shows, and thanks to the new Chicago Fire time slot, audiences will get to see the whole story on the same night. But it could get awkward, because the cops are convinced that a firefighter is part of the latest problem.

Is that going to mean somebody at Firehouse 51 falls under suspicion (which viewers have seen before), or are our heroes going to have to hunt down a rogue firefighter at another house? Either way, it’s not good news. What is good is that this plot provides more screen time for a character who doesn’t always get a lot of it. Let’s hope that the storyline isn’t too rough on him, because it is obviously going to put him to the test!

"In the first part of a crossover with Chicago PD, a spate of robberies comes to light after a firehouse lockbox key goes missing. CPD’s Voight has suspicions that a firefighter may be involved, and with Boden’s support he recruits Cruz to go undercover and help sniff out any suspicious activity."
