Chicago PD season 6, episode 15 recap: Good Men
The political angle
When Halstead and Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) arrived at Engine Company 66, they got a cold reception from everybody, including Price. Upon seeing them there, Price popped up at the district and revealed that he’s also friends with Fire Commissioner Carl Grissom (Gary Cole). That is one dangerous combination, and Price pressured Voight to make sure his case didn’t sully Suggs’ reputation.
Halstead and Upton responded to a tripped alarm in another apartment building, and ran into the rest of the robbery crew. Halstead found one suspect, but only because he was desperately trying to provide CPR to the man whose place he’d broken into. While Halstead tried to save the victim, the two suspects got away from Upton.
Intelligence reconvened, fixating on how one of the suspects knew CPR. They suggested it could have been at a youth program Suggs volunteered with. Burgess and Halstead met Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and the program director there, identifying the kid as a 15-year-old named Aiden West. But when they went to get Aiden, they found a kid being beaten bloody so it was obvious he was just part of a bigger picture.

After taking a still-panicked Aiden into custody, Halstead and Voight interviewed him. Aiden tried to take the blame, saying that he stole the key, which everyone knew wasn’t true since Joe Cruz had Suggs on tape handing over the key. Complicating matters was Price returning and asking Voight to keep the video off the record. That’s because his real interest in protecting Suggs, was in getting Grissom’s endorsement for mayor.
Searching Aiden’s neighborhood let Intelligence find a vehicle similar to the one scene at the last robbery, registered to the aunt of one of his friends, Chris Howard. Intelligence put Chris and Aiden in front of each other on the very spot where Suggs died, trying to get either one to tell the truth. Aiden admitted that the duo were committing the robberies to pay for “our freedom.” Wait, what?
