Chicago PD season 6, episode 15 recap: Good Men
No way out
Aiden and Chris were members of the G-Park Lords – the gang administering the beating earlier. Suggs had tried to offer their boss Kamen money to let them leave the gang, and when that failed that’s how the robbery scheme started. But how could they build a case to take down Kamen? By asking one or both of the kids to turn on him, of course!
Feeling even guiltier after finding out the person he’d tried to perform CPR on had died, Aiden agreed to wear a wire and become Chicago PD’s next undercover informant. He met Kamen at a restaurant, but of course the gang boss had no intention of letting him leave. After Kamen confessed to murdering Suggs, he attacked Aiden, but Atwater was there to brawl with him. That was some top-notch property destruction by Chicago PD, ending with Voight jamming a gun in Kamen’s cheek.
A now bloodied Kamen faced Atwater and Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) in an interrogation, while Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) let Halstead and Chicago PD viewers know that the state was cutting a deal for the teenagers. Upton and Halstead also had another great moment between them, with Upton telling her partner that she trusted him from the day she met him and she’d follow him blindly. Awww.
“Good Men,” and the entire Chicago Fire and Chicago PD crossover, concluded with Voight meeting Price one more time. Kamen had eventually confessed to murder, but that didn’t excuse Suggs from helping the kids to plan the robberies, even if it was for a good reason. Price said he’d get the boys into a better facility, even though the implication was he’d be kissing Grissom’s endorsement goodbye, so Voight decided to stay and have a drink with him after all.
While Cruz struggled with learning the truth about Suggs, Halstead arrived to break the news to Suggs’ wife and tell her that he was the good man she thought he was. The episode faded to black before their conversation, leaving the fans to wonder how it would go and how the family would fare once the case was officially closed.
