The latest Chicago Med focuses on Dr. Charles’ storyline, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promo spot that they’ve released for it.
Wednesday’s installment is called “Old Flames, New Sparks” and picks up a subplot that was first introduced last week. Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) is struggling with the fact that his ex-wife is dealing with cancer again, and faces the truths of his relationship with Caroline (guest star Paula Newsome, NCIS).
This also means One Chicago fans will see more of Daniel and Caroline’s daughter Robin Charles (returning guest star Mekia Cox), who turns to her ex-boyfriend Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) to help her mom. Which Connor will do, because he’s a good guy like that. But is the show going to complicate an already dramatic storyline by throwing in romantic tension between either of these two former couples?
Elsewhere in the hospital, everything else is business as usual, so fans can expect more difficulty for Manstead. Will any of it have to do with the boundaries Natalie wound up crossing last week? We’ll have to watch Chicago Med this week and find out.

"Natalie and Will grow further apart. Dr. Charles struggles to come to terms with his feelings toward his ex-wife. The personal issues between Dr. Rhodes and Dr. Bekker continue to cause problems at the hospital."
