Otis

Of course, this Chicago Fire episode needed a comedic subplot, and One Chicago fans know who the show turns to for those stories! Mouch (Christian Stolte) had the results of a recent raffle, which included some good news for Otis (Yuri Sardarov). He’d won a mysterious “sports package.”

That turned out to be the chance to win $10,000 at an upcoming Chicago Blackhawks game if he could make a goal. One problem: Otis didn’t know how to play hockey. He didn’t even know how to skate. So the rest of Firehouse 51 rallied to teach him what he needed to know, in order to cash that check.

Brett and Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) treated a hockey player bitten by a spider, and Foster used that to get professional help for Otis. (The fact that Foster bet money on Otis being able to make the shot also had something to do with it.) After some work with Frank, it was time for Otis to take the ice.

And so “Fault In Him” ended with Otis’s big moment. He missed his first shot, and barely missed the second. In true TV fashion, it all came down to his last attempt, which was clean through the center target. Everyone had a major freakout at the fact that Otis had just won $10,000—and a few of his friends had made some money betting on him besides.

He could use that money to get a few drinks, because after everything else that happened in this episode, a few are certainly in order.
