Chicago Fire’s Brett and Kyle: Should they stay or split?
Why they should break up
Kyle and Brett have already split, and the reason Kyle gave for dumping Sylvie isn’t going to go away. The only way a potential conflict of interest would be resolved is if Kyle’s chaplain duties didn’t involve Firehouse 51, which can’t happen since then there’d be little reason for him to be part of Chicago Fire.
So if he really believes that dating her is that big of a liability, then there’s no way they’d get back together. The show would have to come up with a believable reason for him to change his mind (to be fair, the One Chicago universe has reversed course on its characters’ own arguments before).

Another reason for keeping them separated is the one thing they have that no other One Chicago ship has to deal with: only one of them is a franchise regular. Kyle is a recurring character, which means that if Teddy Sears is cast in another TV show or movie, then he wouldn’t be available for future episodes of Chicago Fire.
Sometimes this doesn’t matter and sometimes it does—look at Gary Cole and how much his being in demand forced the show to work around Commissioner Grissom’s absence. The writers did their best, but couldn’t help that it looked strange that Grissom wasn’t around for things he should’ve noticed.
With how Brett’s character suffered from the back and forth of Brettonio, do the fans want to see her in another relationship that might also come to an abrupt end because of something out of the show’s control?
