Wedding crasher takes on a serious new meaning in the next Law & Order: SVU, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promo that they’ve released for it.
Thursday’s installment is titled “Dearly Beloved,” but there’s nothing to love about the crime alleged here: a therapist who may have sexually assaulted one of his patients. The victim is so upset that she decides to ruin his wedding day, in order to make clear what she claims happened to her. Needless to say, this is news to everyone else.
Can Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her Special Victims Unit team get to the truth? Could there be more than one victim? Or could this be a false accusation that might cost this man his impending marriage? There’s a lot to unpack in this installment, which also has some extra star power attached to it behind the camera.
The episode is directed by Lucy Liu (Elementary, Charlie’s Angels) and also guest stars former Chicago Fire actress Shiri Appleby—you likely remember her from playing Clarice Carthage, or also from starring in UnREAL, in which she worked with Chicago Justice alum Monica Barbaro.
